Position: Post-Secondary Success Coordinator
Reports To: Associate Director of Programs & Advocacy
Type: Full-Time
Position Summary: The ideal candidate for the Post-Secondary Success Coordinator role will have a strong background in education, youth development, or gender equity advocacy. They will be passionate about our mission and have a proven track record of success in overseeing high school leadership, college advising and/or alumnae programs. This individual is a member of the Project Accelerate team and will work with the team on the following key responsibilities:
- Serve as lead facilitator for the Ambassador Club. This high school leadership program is offered twice monthly (Saturdays) and weekly at local partner sites.
- Work with the Eureka! Coordinator to execute Project Accelerate initiatives for high school juniors, seniors, and Girls Inc. alumnae.
- Coordinate a post-secondary readiness summer program for high school students.
- Work with the Partnership Manager to identify paid internship placements.
- Work collaboratively with the Project Accelerate team members to coordinate post-secondary readiness experiences, including career exploration workshops, college tours, job readiness training, and other immersion programs.
- Collect and track data, including alumnae assessments and program data.

The Girls Inc. national network serves over 140,000 girls through 84 affiliates. Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey is the local affiliate serving 3,000 girls in the Greater Philadelphia region and Camden, New Jersey.
Ambassador Club Description: Girls Inc.’s Ambassador Club is a leadership program for 9th-12th grade girls that takes a holistic approach to support girls as they transition into healthy, educated, independent women. With its group mentoring model and professional partnerships, the Ambassador Club helps girls develop a sisterhood of support. It equips them with the tools to succeed in high school and beyond. Core program themes focus on leadership, advocacy, and post-secondary readiness. This is one of our premier high school programs that serve as the foundation for the Girls Inc. Project Accelerate initiative.
The Girls Inc. Project Accelerate (PA) initiative speeds the entry of young women, especially women of color, into positions of influence and leadership, particularly in sectors where pay equity and gender disparities are far too prevalent. This initiative advances young women’s educational attainment and skill development, positioning them for professional leadership roles in an evolving work environment. We leverage partnerships with corporations and social impact organizations to support change towards equity in the workplace and access to meaningful careers.
Through Project Accelerate (PA), young women attain relevant leadership, social-emotional learning (SEL), and diversity, equity, and inclusion skills to help them throughout their career trajectory to:
- Graduate high school with the skills and confidence to pursue their post-secondary plans.
- Successfully navigate their college or work experience.
- Participate in valuable paid internship opportunities.
- Connect and establish relationships with mentors and coaches.
- Pursue career and postgraduate education.
- Experience rewarding and well-compensated employment opportunities.
Responsibilities
Ambassador Club
- Identifies school partners to recruit and retain 30-40 students annually at the Girls Inc. center.
- Facilitates personal development programs at 1-2 approved partner schools weekly during the academic year.
- Collaborates with program staff, interns, and Girls Inc. Associate Advisory Board mentors to strategically develop a program facilitation plan that includes leadership, post-secondary readiness, and advocacy activities.
- Ensures each student has a post-secondary plan.
- Administers and collects program data, including demographic information, attendance records, program evaluations, and feedback.
- Conducts an annual review and updates the program plan as needed. Accurately tracks all data.
- Establishes a positive rapport with participants, caregivers, mentors, and other stakeholders.
Project Accelerate (PA)
- Works collaboratively with the Eureka! Coordinator to develop and maintain strong post-secondary networks that benefit participants and alumnae.
- Identifies resources that enhance post-secondary plans, specifically academic and professional opportunities for current high school participants and alums.
- Works with the PA team on the paid internship process by referring eligible high school and alums students for internships, full-time job placements, and job training to ensure a quality work experience that enhances students’ academic and professional goals.
- Supports the internship process by conducting weekly check-ins, assisting with the collection of timesheets, and coordinating professional development opportunities during the summer.
- Implements a post-secondary assessment tool that assesses participants’ readiness and outcomes from high school through alumnae.
- Builds and strengthens the alumni community by creating a vibrant and compelling local network at the local affiliate level that aligns with the Girls Inc. national alumni network.
- Develops an engagement calendar and coordinates in-person and virtual opportunities that align with Project Accelerate goals.
- Develops a timeline to conduct quarterly check-ins utilizing post-secondary assessments; collects and tracks data; and connects participants to post-secondary opportunities and other resources.
- Works with the PA team to connect participants with professional mentors and opportunities.
Requirements:
- Outstanding inerpersonal skills
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
- Proven experience in program planning, implementation, managing volunteers, and alumni relations
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience working with high school and/or college students
- Bachelor’s Degree

Hours per week: 35 (including some Saturdays and evenings)
Location: Hybrid work schedule. Must be able to commute to Girls Inc. at the Bok Building (South Philadelphia) and other school-based locations as required. Program facilitation is in person. Other tasks may be remote, as agreed upon with supervisor.
Salary: $50,000-$55,000. We offer full-time employees comprehensive benefits, including medical and dental, a 403B retirement plan, and generous Paid Time Off.
