Erin Wheatley

Erin is the Education and Outreach Coordinator at Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey and is thrilled to collaborate with the Girls Inc. team to reach program goals and ultimately create a world where all girls feel inspired to be strong, smart, and bold. Erin has her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh and is a recent graduate from the New York University Silver School of Social Work. She looks forward to using her Master of Social Work degree to develop relationships with Girls Inc. participants, their schools, and their families. Erin is passionate about serving youth from a holistic point of view, considering the environmental, physical, emotional, mental, and social challenges they can face each day.

Her most recent professional experience at an adolescent residential psychiatric facility in Elizabeth, New Jersey provided her with insight on the effects that childhood trauma can have on a human being and she hopes to further the conversation about mental health and wellness among girls and their families.

Through various volunteer opportunities and non-profit positions, Erin discovered her passion for people, advocacy, and social work. She feels it is her responsibility to empower those around her to become the best versions of themselves and is thrilled to share her experiences with the Girls Inc. community. Erin is a Licensed Social Worker and Registered Yoga Teacher. She looks forward to using her background in yoga, a practice that has opened up so much in her own life, to help build resiliency and strength in Girls. Inc. girls! In her free time, Erin loves to practice yoga, cycle, run, and spend time with friends and family eating delicious food. She is new to the city of Philadelphia and is excited to call it home.
