SHARE

Girls Inc. was awarded a $350,000, two-year grant to expand our Bold Futures Mentoring Program, which serves girls at increased risk of juvenile delinquency and victimization. Part of PCCD’s Community Violence Prevention/Reduction Initiative, this grant supports organizations who are increasing access to trauma-informed support services, providing mentoring, and more.

Through Bold Futures, Girls Inc. equips girls with the guidance, support and skills to be engaged in school, build healthy relationships with peers and family, and reduce negative and high-risk behaviors. The desired outcome is to reduce the number of girls entering the juvenile justice system and ensure that girls who have experienced trauma get the services they need to heal and succeed. To date, over one hundred and fifty (150) girls have successfully completed the one year program. Bold Futures is a model program to strengthen juvenile justice prevention efforts and reduce violence citywide.
