Joliet MacColl Nicholson

Joliet graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from York College of Pennsylvania (YCP) in the Spring of 2020. Joliet started graduate school at West Chester University in the fall of 2021 and is now working toward her MSW. She started interning with Girls Inc. as a part of the West Chester MSW program requirements. Joliet quickly learned the value of the Girls Inc. Experience and was inspired and excited by the mission.

During her time as an intern, Joliet worked with Girls Inc. participants in elementary, middle, and high school. She co-facilitated programs including healthy communication (Friendly PEERsuasion), financial literacy (Futures and Options), self-defense and self care (Project BOLD), STEM, Leadership and Community Action, and Social and Emotional Learning. These experiences have been beyond impactful, and it is a joy for Joliet to work with not only the participants but the passionate and hardworking staff at Girls Inc. Joliet was hired as an employee after her time as an intern. She will be working as Group Leader for the Eureka! team and is thrilled to continue working with the organization.

Joliet is from Media, Pennsylvania, and she is passionate about music, advocacy, and sports. She was a collegiate athlete at YCP on the women’s soccer team. Joliet’s athletic career helped her become the person she is today by instilling the ideals of teamwork, leadership, accountability, humility, and hard work. Joliet is excited to continue to learn, grow, and empower during her time at Girls Inc.
