Marylissa Barbosa-Fish

Marylissa received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from La Salle University in 2016. In her time as an undergraduate, she volunteered with Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey twice. During her time, she quickly fell in love with the mission of the organization and the young girls enrolled. Following graduation, Marylissa completed two years of AmeriCorps service: one with City Year Philadelphia and the next with Promise Corps.

Girls Inc. continued to hold a place in her heart, finding ways to mention the organization in conversation and always speaking great things. Following her second year of AmeriCorps, she welcomed a little girl and transitioned into a supervising position with Promise Corps. There she gained experience working for local government partners, managing recent college graduates, and collaborating with high schools in support of students. Through her experiences, she has found her passion of supporting students in post-secondary readiness and in 2020 began her master’s program for Higher Education Student Affairs.

Marylissa is now the Eureka! Program Coordinator. Returning to Girls Inc. is an exciting opportunity for her to bring back all that she has gained in previous roles to the sustained growth of the Eureka! program and the organization. She is eager to continue leading the amazing Eureka! program and is ready to support the girls through their growth in STEM, sports, and professional development.
