Position: Post-Secondary Success Coordinator
Position Summary:  This is a new and exciting position designed to lead our growing high school leadership and alumni programs. The Post-Secondary Success Coordinator will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Serves as lead facilitator for the Ambassador Club, our high school post-secondary planning and leadership program
  • Supports recruitment for high school programs
  • Coordinates externship placements for high school participants and alumni
  • Develops and implements alumni program

Girls Inc. responds to the changing needs of girls through research-based programs and public education efforts that empower girls to understand, value, and assert their rights.

The Girls Inc. national network serves over 140,000 girls through 84 affiliates.  Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey is the local affiliate serving 3,000 girls in the Greater Philadelphia region.

Responsibilities

Ambassador Club

  • Prepares, delivers, tracks and evaluates programs for our participants;
  • Partners with staff and program mentors to strategically plan and develop program curriculum and special projects;
  • Responsible for gathering and collecting program data including but not limited to demographic information and pre- and post-evaluations;
  • Conducts annual review and update of curriculum, programming, and educational opportunities for program;
  • Establishes a positive rapport with participants, families, and stakeholders.

Program Recruitment:

  • Responsible for working collaboratively to develop, facilitate, and implement all phases of the recruitment process;
  • Works with marketing and program staff to prepare marketing and public relations material for recruitment;
  • Acts as a point of contact and builds relationships with school and community partners to support recruitment efforts;
  • Maintains and prepares appropriate records of membership, demographics and participation.

Externships

  • Develops strong industry sector and collegiate networks that will have mutual benefits for our alumni and for the organization;
  • Creates resources which support, advance, and enhance post-secondary plans, academic, and professional opportunities for current Girls Inc. participants and alumni;
  • Facilitates employer recruitment of students by identifying, locating, and referring eligible students for job placement;
  • Ensures quality work experiences for students by assisting employers in the development of positions, that complement and enhance students’ academic and professional goals;
  • Promotes a positive work experience for students after job placement, through follow-up activities with students and employers;
  • Supports and assists in the identification of quality opportunities, services, externships and resources for high-school students and alumni.

Alumni Engagement

  • Develops and delivers the Alumni engagement strategy in line with the organization’s strategic plan;
  • Responsible for building and strengthening the alumni community, creating a vibrant and compelling local network, and contributing to national alumni network;
  • Coordinates and manages in-person and online alumni events and activities, and manages the alumni communication calendar;
  • Documents alumni engagement opportunities, activities, and events;
  • Manages alumni volunteer opportunities within the organization;
  • Participates in Girls Inc. national alumni network;
  • Performs other duties as requested and agreed upon.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about the mission and vision of Girls Inc.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proven experience in one of the following: Program planning, development and implementation, Alumni Relations and Corporate Partnership and/or Engagement
  • Experience managing volunteers and establishing volunteer-led programs
  • Event management experience
  • Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and Web Searches
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, sharing information, ideas and effective practices
  • At least of two years’ experience working with youth in a group setting
  • Bachelors in Psycho/Social Sciences, Education, Business Administration, Communications, or other related field

This is a full-time position with a competitive benefits package.
Salary range: $37,500 – $50,0000 based on experience.
