Position: Site Supervisor

Position Summary:  The Site Director will support the program coordination and facilitate lessons to students in the Project LEAP after-school program. Project LEAP is a comprehensive after-school program designed to engage and empower middle school (5th-8th grade students) to see themselves as future STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) leaders. Project LEAP will be offered in partnership with and funded by a grant from the School District of Philadelphia.

Program Implementation

  • Collaborate with the Site Director and Group Leaders to ensure that participants receive quality programming that is engaging and developmentally appropriate, Monday-Friday; 3:00-6:00pm.
  • Assist with the recruitment and retention of program participants.
  • Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment for the after-school enrichment focused on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and wellness.
  • Establish a positive rapport and create a safe engaging learning environment for all participants. Ensure that all youth feel welcomed and engaged in the program.
  • Practice conflict resolution and problem solving that model respect for differences, is non-threatening, calm and de-escalating in style of students during and after instructional program.
  • Practice the duties and responsibilities of a mandated reporter for suspected child abuse under current Girls Inc. policies and procedures, as required.
  • Facilitate daily check-in/check-out process using the after-school Arrival Sheet.
  • Maintain a high quality and program safety standards that protect youths’ physical and emotional safety.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute special events and projects that are inclusive to the following: Implementation of career exploration workshops, field trips, procurement of guest speakers, and family engagement sessions.
  • Acts in accordance with Girls Inc. policies and procedures.

Community Collaboration and Partnership

  • Work collaboratively with the Site Director to develop and implement a regular communication plan for families, teachers, and volunteers.
  • Conduct outreach to parents to ensure regular attendance.
  • Communicate with school staff to identify any social emotional needs and provide proactive and responsive supports during program as needed.
  • Communicate with Site Director, to ensure continuity of support for students during the program.

Reporting and Evaluation

  • Collect and track program documentation–logs, attendance, records, surveys, etc. for purposes of evaluation/reports. Generate written reports as required.
  • Collect feedback from Project LEAP participants, caregivers, and partners–to identify and tailor areas for program support and growth.
  • Enter program data in Compass-360 database including demographics and program hours.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure all materials used for program are sanitized and/or prepare single use materials as appropriate.
  • Inventory enrichment and programming supply needs and ensure adequate replenishment as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Site Director and Associate Program Director.

Professional Development

  • Participate in Girls Inc. staff meetings, trainings, and conferences essential to execution of job functions.
  • Participate in periodic assessment of own performance, develop own goals and objectives.


  • High levels of professional effectiveness, collaboration, integrity, optimism, and energy.
  • Must live within the Greater Philadelphia region.
  • Minimum one year experience working with youth.
  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree from an accredited college or university.

Compensation: $33,000-$39,000
