Thalia has always had a passion for working with youth and has been doing so since she was 14. While working in childcare, she knew it was something she wanted to make into a career.

After graduating from Thomas Edison High school, she spent her time interning at the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, where she received a scholarship to attend the Community College of Philadelphia (CCP). While attending CCP, Thalia volunteered at Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey as a program facilitator. She went on to graduate from CCP with an associate’s degree in Behavioral Health and Human Services in 2016. She also worked at After School All-Stars and continued to volunteer at Girls Inc. as the Latina Initiative Co-Coordinator, where she performed outreach activities and provided resources for the Hispanic community.

In 2017, Thalia joined the Girls Inc. team full-time as the Youth, Family, and Community Engagement Specialist.

She leads the Seeds to Read early grade literacy program,  Bold Futures mentoring program, and facilitates weekly sessions for local girls detained at the Juvenile Justice Center. She is currently enrolled at West Chester University, where she is working towards her bachelor’s degree in Social Work.
