Natasha Johnson, MS Ed.
Natasha Johnson is the CEO of Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey, an organization that inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. She is a dynamic and mission-driven nonprofit leader with over two decades of experience advancing programs that empower and uplift girls and young women.
In her previous role as Deputy Director and Director of Programs, Natasha led the expansion, development, and evaluation of innovative initiatives that now serve more than 2,500 girls annually. Her leadership has ensured program excellence, compliance with grants and contracts, and the growth of impactful partnerships across schools, corporations, and communities.
Over 20 years ago, Natasha established and formalized the organization’s now-thriving internship program, partnering with more than a dozen colleges and universities. Today, the program supports over sixty college interns annually. She also contributes to fund development through strategic grant writing and serves as a trainer for Girls Inc., delivering research-based curricula and professional development to staff, affiliates, and community partners.
Natasha began her career with Girls Inc. shortly after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Temple University, rising through the ranks in roles including Case Manager, Mentoring Coordinator, Manager of Mentoring Services, and Interim Executive Director. In 2023, she was promoted to Deputy Director and Director of Programs, a testament to her unwavering dedication and impact.
She holds a Master of Science in Education with a concentration in School and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania, bringing a trauma-informed, equity-centered approach to her work. In 2025, she earned a Customized Certificate in Nonprofit Management from The Nonprofit Center at La Salle University and selected to participate in Girls Inc.’s Inaugural Leadership Accelerator Program.
A champion of mentorship and leadership development, Natasha is a graduate of WOMEN Unlimited Inc.’s T.E.A.M. program and the Forum of Executive Women Mentoring Program. She has also served as Co-Chair of the School District of Philadelphia’s Mentoring Community of Practice for five years, contributing her voice to the growth of mentoring in educational settings.
Her commitment to service extends beyond her professional role. Natasha is a founding board member of the Girls Justice League, and an active member of organizations supporting women and girls globally, including Soroptimist International of the Americas – Five Points Magneta, the National Association of University Women – Suburban Philadelphia Branch, and the Extraordinary Women League. She also serves on the Board of Temple University’s Black Alumni Alliance.
Natasha’s contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including the Beacon Icon Award, Temple University’s Department of Public Health Internship Supervisor of the Year, Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey’s Mentor of the Decade, and a 20 Years of Service Award from Girls Inc. Headquarters.
